Necessary plugins for the Wordapp Workshop
Make sure you install Yoast, the Wordapp Plugin for WordPress and a theme for your site.
Wordapp Plugin Installation
Why you need the Wordapp plugin? This way you won’t have to upload content manually.
- Login to your WordPress site
- Go to Plugins > Add new
- Search for “Wordapp”
- Install and then activate the plugin
Login to your WordPress site by adding ‘/wp-admin’ to the end of the domain URL.
Yoast Plugin Installation
Why we need the Yoast plugin? We use it to set the meta titles/descriptions from Wordapp.
- Login to your WordPress site
- Go to Plugins > Add new
- Search for “Yoast”
- Install and then activate the plugin
Theme Installation
To make your site look pretty, we need to install a theme. If you have a theme already you can use that one. Alternatively get a free theme following these instructions.
- Download this free theme (don’t unpack the ZIP)
- Login to your WordPress site
- Go to Appearance > Themes > Add new
- Upload the ZIP folder with your theme by clicking “upload theme”
- Install and then activate the theme
